BNDC privacy policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026

The Banodoco community team operates BNDC (Brain of BNDC), our Discord bot, and Hivemind, our community knowledge archive. This policy covers the Discord data these services process.

Data and purpose

From channels configured for the bot, we collect messages, attachment and embed information, source links, author and channel identifiers, timestamps, reactions and conversation context, including edits and deletion markers. We also process member names, IDs and roles, plus social links and sharing preferences members provide.

BNDC uses earlier discussions to answer support questions with sources. The data also supports the knowledge archive, resource curation, community updates, introduction review and role management.

Storage and sharing

We store data outside Discord in Supabase/PostgreSQL. The managed database uses encryption at rest and TLS in transit; this assurance does not extend to every operational file or log on systems running or administering the bot. Stored messages have no automatic fixed expiry and may remain longer than 30 days.

Hosting, database and AI providers process data for these services. Hivemind makes community messages and source information publicly searchable and accessible outside Discord. Replies and updates may reproduce or link to content. We cannot recall third-party copies or control their use of public material.

AI processing

We send questions and selected discussion context to OpenAI for inference with Zero Data Retention enforced. Neither we nor OpenAI use this submitted content for model training. This provider configuration is separate from retention in our own database.

We update this page when practices change. Discord’s own processing is covered by Discord’s privacy policy.
